Vortex Centrum publishers, part of The Anti Money Laundering Network, maintains dozens of websites for itself and Group companies.

Some are based on Drupal but others are based on bought in, open source or in-house developed code, mostly PHP.

We require an experienced programmer who can

a) maintain and bug-fix the existing websites

b) modify existing websites

c) develop new applications. Currently our developments are in PHP but we are considering all new product development in Ruby on Rails, AJAX and JAVA.

This is a contract - to - permanent position.

The Head of Product Development is based in Malaysia in a time-zone of GMT +8.

Your contract will be with our Malaysian services company. You, however, may be based anywhere.

Salary will be commensurate with demonstrated experience.

Some of your work will be mission critical. Therefore only experienced programmers should apply.

Criteria:

1. Demonstrable experience in PHP and Ruby on Rails, JAVA and AJAX.

2. Excellent written and spoken English, jargon, slang and abbreviation free.

3. Ability and willingness to work on high pressure assignments to coincide with Malaysian time zone.

4. To take contract to permanent position.

5. Able to work effectively without routine supervision.

6. Available within one month of appointment.
